First, YOU AND YOURS protection and that OF necessary supplies is required...
If you see ONE SINGLE 2012 SURVIVAL BOOK - OR VIDEO

ON THE INTERNET and it DOES NOT START WITH THE
EMERGENCY SHELTER FIRST -  PROTECTION OF YOU AND YOURS
AND YOUR NECESSARY SUPPLIES
IS SOMETHING WRONG.... WITH THE BOOK - OR VIDEO
... SOME SNAKE OIL FOR SALE?....
If you have NO IDEA of where you are going to be... then you have
no REAL idea of what type of NECESSARY SUPPLIES life saving
you can take and will need to last you... even a few days... let alone a few minutes!

If you have no idea of how to shelter you and your supplies... first...
Then what happens if you decide to move quickly to another area and want
and need to re-supply yourself... but still know nothing about how to immediately
protect you... yours and your necessary supplies?

If some survivalist is sharing information about buying mountain bike
and becoming a pot shot special by every nut out there thinking they see food
zooming by in a hundred mph wind with an inch of rain pouring down?
Think..do they know more about 2012 than you?

As for me... I am one of those who does a
little RESEARCH first ** If you don't mind try it, PLEASE? **

For instance... looking around on the Internet.. in places such as: http://www.neara.org/ 
you will find The Ancients (our Great-Grandparents) built ROCK CHAMBERS!
Rock Chamber... meaning ROOMS... with only a DOOR WAY!

Yes... there was wood... but rock was chosen... Yes... they could have used caves... but... they NEVER chose caves... never are they on record... for using caves ...these are those called the Paleo-Indian or CLOVIS people... long before they ever went west to New Mexico...
And, in Europe the were called the Paloes (ancients???)
... Even earlier time periods...

Population?: ONE THING FOR SURE IS THEY WERE SMALL IN POPULATIONS...
If our SCIENTISTS know what they are talking about it was just 70.000 years ago
that HUMANITIES numbers only amounted to total of about 2,000 world wide...

So approximately 55,000 years later... spread around the world we were still few in number...
And... some of those are shown to have lived under devastating circumstances...
And... they chose to build safe chambers for protection fortify themselves from
some kind of horrendous climatic dangers... And, we are here today - because they DID!
They PREPARED TO SURVIVE! And, showed us the way.

A little common sense along with research shows that many of the Rock Chambers
have (even today in America) NEW growth Trees and shrubs around or over them...
...OR in Europe...  very little if no growth around them at all... at least today....
Meaning FIRE.. Searing Heat... or something
caused them to Prefer... the inter safety of very protective thick rock to insulate themselves and necessary supplies away... from danger...

Later... at least in Europe many of these turned into tombs or tourist traps...

The Rock Chamber protection... all built... on the slopes of a hill... Never on TOP...
On a MILD HILLS... so any WATER RAN DOWN and AWAY
From the Rock Rooms and Door Ways! On hills AVOIDING possible areas that might flood.

If they could not find an area with HILLS... THEN ON TOP OF high Grounds
they BUILT a MOUND above rooms ALL AROUND ** THICK ROCK CHAMBERS **
So waters ... would still run down and away from..

Researching time and again... The Rock CHAMBERS
All seeming to have **EXTREMELY ** THICK CEILINGS....
ALL EXTREMELY ** THICK WALLS sloping away from chambers.. to allow for run off**
Not necessarily to keep ANIMALS OR HUMANS OUT!!!
BUT to KEEP OUT
Terrible... SEARING HEAT... MASSIVE Constant HIGH WINDS...
TORRENTIAL RAINS.... running DOWN AND AWAY!

And... then reinforced these ** THICK CEILINGS AND WALLS **
WINDS AND WATER PROOFING THEM WITH LAYERS OF DIRT OUT SIDE
Heavy mixtures of some type (if possible clay or whatever they had available inside) ...

And... for TOOLS (???) Shovel... Perhaps the shoulder blade of an ANIMAL!
And... with their BARE HANDS... PREPARED TO SURVIVE!
And... YOU (WE) ARE HERE... RIGHT NOW... TODAY... Because THEY DID!

What are you willing to DO to PREPARE to SURVIVE?
Do YOUR RESEARCH!  Protection from
HORRENDOUS ...  CLIMATIC  .... Weather CONDITIONS! 
That one safe place for you and yours and necessary supplies...
Where can you make this happen today?

An above the ground SHELTER at or around HOME isn't a bad idea... if you happen to bewealthy enough to afford it... HAVE no other choices... and
or have the materials laying around to make it happen.

And... don't kid yourself... some can find this material... and one trip after another..  will make this happen... The least of the least will surprise you!

But... I'd suggest (if at all possible???) you keep your project (the HOME shelter)
real quiet... or every out-side UN-WANTED VISITOR will be showing up
in forces that you just don't want to... and be in your supplies...

Straying for a moment: The need to know... about you and yours... plans...
Folks... I recently came across ON THE INTERNET
Some individuals SHARING THAT THEIR LOCATIONS and telling others that
they are the best locations for them to come for SURVIVAL of the year 2012!!!
WOW! SOME 2012 SURVIVALISTS!!!!..................

My recommendation... is THINK BEFORE YOU MAKE THAT JUMP!

It takes only a LITTLE COMMON SENSE to realize that a possible DANGEROUS 
SITUATION for those areas can be OPENED UP WIDE!!! 
WHEW! Openly (on the Internet of all places)
advertising where Survivalists... their families may be RE-LOCATING 
AND WITH EMERGENCIES SUPPLIES MAY OR ARE ALREADY STORED? 

THINK?   Is it just POSSIBLE???  NOW...
INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE BEING PUT IN DANGER ... BECAUSE WHEN THE 
MASSES ... THAT DID NOT PREPARE ... DECIDE THEY'RE IN
IN NEED OF SUPPLIES... JUST HOW MANY WILL ALREADY KNOW
WHERE TO GET THEM... IN DESPERATION... ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!!! 

Suggestion: ALWAYS Keep your SURVIVAL
PREPARATIONS information confidential...

Back to the Rock Chambers: On TOPIC - TOOLS a MUST!
Most of us are much luckier than our Ancient Great-Grandparents
In as much as we have access to tools unlike nothing they ever had.

1. First TOOL is a MACHETE... used to make other tools, carving, cutting, chopping, if right type sawing, many other purposes...
    Each member of a group... is different in size... and Machetes... come in different sizes... don't over or under buy... if it  is comfortable in hand... it is right... if you can afford the one with a saw blade on the back side... think?
2. NEXT A Shovels yes! All sizes... Preferable collapsible - fiberglass handle - you choose... again according to size...
3. ROPE strong small... at least 100 feet... ... hang - lift - supplies.. tow - needs many purposes!
4. Weather-proof Tarps... many fold up small... extremely light... uses weather proofing ... blankets... insulation.. protection...

If you have to be MOBIL... THESE 4 ABOVE needed Accessories... can help you build Protection... Chambers time and again... And... be used for life saving other needs time and again!...

Note: If you notice...At this point...  I am not referring to supplying yourself
with foodstuffs or  other supplies... to come later...
With even present and future Climatic weather conditions... being extremely horrendous at times...  First... Your protection (SHELTER) and that for necessary supplies is required...

NOTICE: FIRST 4 SURVIVAL NEEDED TOOLS  NAMED! 
And... they did not cost you an ARM AND A LEG!

IN Selling a supposed 2012 emergency supplies that are
suppose to help you make it through a 90 day period and you are
expecting to have to live outside in torrential rains
and high winds ?????? and these are not the
first 4 ITEMS RECOMMEND ON THE LIST...   Do you know
what to do with that book that does not start with these first 4 items?

NO water... meds... Foods supplies... tents... etc.. are going to do you
any good if you can't find OR MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR
YOUR OWN SHELTER ** FIRST! **
This is NOT about being LOST out in the WOODS or JUNGLE!

You are not going to be lost in the woods... There are going to be
horrendous CLIMATIC WEATHER CONDITIONS YOU WILL
NEED PROTECTION FROM FIRST such as...
Tornados, HIGH WINDS... Torrential Rains... SEARING HEAT... ETC...
AND... WITHOUT SHELTER FIRST...  FOR YOUR PROTECTION
AND....  SURVIVAL SUPPLIES all else WILL BE USELESS!

HAVING THE KNOWLEDGE AND THE START 
IF NEEDED ** SHELTER - LIVING - STORAGE **
WHYS OF THE FIRST 4 TOOLS PUTS
YOU WAY OUT AHEAD IN PREPARING AND SURVIVING...
AND... IN BEING ABLE TO SHARE AND EXPLAIN TO OTHERS
THE REASONS AND WHYS...

NOW!... If  POSSIBLE... WHERE to build... your SHELTER(S)...
Next.. Accomplishing research... it just may be that you already know a place...
or that you may have to take a spin around the country side more than once or twice... 

How many 100,000's of thousands of DEATHS must one see before they
understand whether in the middle of a NATIONS flood plains area or along
the RIVERS - LAKES - and COASTAL AREAS ANYWHERE!!!!!
Common sense logic says... LARGE SURGES may be the cause
of HUGE waves crashing way into given coastal areas... so the further you can
remove you and yours from coastal or given flooding areas the better! 
This includes Mountain ravines... and Desert washes....

Me.. I choose at least 100 to 150 miles inland...
And, for safety sake... if possible at least 3,000 feet above sea level...

And... in an area where there is access to hills that I may possibly build
my SHELTER(S) 3/4 (three quarters of the way up a towards the top of a hill.

Now... if that choice is not available... then I will at least try to find the highest
flat area I can as long as it is not underneath a given possibility that cave-ins
may occur...
AND... then I will build my CHAMBER... SHELTER(S) Above Ground!
And... then COVER THEM and build layers sloping away from them so water
runs down and away from my structure... I will NOT GIVE UP!...

To avoid hazards... if at ALL POSSIBLE... I will not build in wooded areas!
Danger from FIRE MUST BE AVOIDED....  I WILL NOT BUILD IN POSSIBLE
Mountain SLIDE or RAVINE AREAS.... I will not STORE IN CAVES THAT
CAN COME DOWN IN THE EVENT OF QUAKES... 

Again... RESEARCH... where possible....   I WILL NOT BUILD IN
FLOOD PRONE AND KNOWN FLOOD AREAS...  I know I can not make all
things work my way... BUT... I will research... and do my very best... to insure
that I darn well will try!  I WILL PREPARE TO SURVIVE!

WHERE IF POSSIBLE:  Below the Top of MILD SLOPING HILLS....
Doorways ** ALWAYS ** facing out towards the DOWN HILL directions...

Layers... GRADES of DIRT on...outside.. sloping away from Structure...
so WATER RUNS AWAY from structure or around and then away...
CEILINGS... WALLS.... THICK...

MATERIAL TO USE????   ((IF NOT ROCK.. for Sure FIRE PROOF - WATER PROOF))  Material must be able to support weight (layers of insulation (DIRT DOES NOT BURN)   ... MATERIAL MUST BE ABLE TO SUPPORT HEAVY WEIGHTS!!!
LIFE depends on it!  Caution and Wisdom Working Together!

NOTE: I haven't touched on the subject matter that many of you have access to or friends that might have... machinery that can scoop out in a minute or two
a fine area to put one or more SHELTERS...

Should the time come... and.... If you have access to this type of machinery
GREAT... If you have the friends that can do it for you GREAT! But, remember... if at all possible SHELTER LOCATIONS should be kept extremely confidential.
This is about SURVIVAL and there will be plenty to contend with without having
to put up with un-wanted visitors putting you and yours in danger!

It may aggravate you that I keep stressing the fact that unwanted visitors will be around somewhere and your protections will be threaten if you don't follow a little common sense.
 But... being aggravated now... sure beats losing (LATER)  life saving needed supplies or worse yet.. a life!  Don't let ANGER ride shotgun when making any decisions, please.
